PUBLIC SERVICESThe Community Development Commission may use up to 15% of its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to assist a range of public service activities that benefit persons whose incomes do not exceed 80% of median area income for Sonoma County. Examples of eligible activities for CDBG Public Service funding are: operation of homeless shelters and transitional housing units, job training programs, youth services, senior services, family self-sufficiency services, substance abuse treatment programs and operation of day centers for homeless persons. The Commission may use up to 30% of its Federal Emergency Shelter Grants (FESG) funding to assist in the provision of services to homeless persons in conjunction with operation of homeless shelters.
