Sonoma County supports and encourages greater transparency in serving the community. The community must know that public dollars are being spent wisely. Recently, there have been considerable legitimate concerns raised about local government salaries and compensation for public employees. As the stewards of scarce public resources, the County remains committed to ensuring that the public is informed. Below are informational resources for your review. Two of these sources are from non-county organizations, the State Controller and the Orange County Register. The State Controller’s Office has compiled from all of California’s 58 counties a lists of the salary and county which you may access here: Local Government Compensation Reports Also, we have provided a list created by the Orange County Register of the salary of all County Administrator’s. As a reference Sonoma County is the 17th largest county in population in the state. Statewide County Administrator’s Salary and Compensation Spreadsheet In addition, we have listed those positions that are under County employ and compensation is over $200,000. This group of employees represents 3.3% of the total county workforce of 4,519 full and part time employees.
