BACKGROUND:
Mike Reilly was a former aide to Assemblyman Dan Hauser. For the decade prior to his election, he served as Executive Director of West County Community Services, a non-profit social services agency. He also served for thirteen years on local school boards in the West County.

DISTRICT INFORMATION:
The 5th district encompasses the west county including the entire Sonoma County coast, the lower Russian River area, Sebastopol and the west and southwest Santa Rosa areas extending in to Highway 101.

RESPONSIBILITY:
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Sonoma is charged with the responsibility of establishing policy to guide the various functions of the County and, where necessary, to establish procedures by which functions are performed. Supervisor Reilly’s assigned Functional Group of County departments for the year 2008 is Fiscal Services/Consumer Protection. In March, 1997, Supervisor Reilly was appointed by the State Senate to the California Coastal Commission and continues to serve. Other special assignments include FishNet 4C, Joint Roseland Subcommittee, Public Policy Facilitating Committee and the Tourism Advertising Committee. Supervisor Reilly is also assigned as the alternate member for the Redwood Empire Association, the North Coast Air Pollution Control District and the Russian River Watershed Association.
