European Grapevine Moth (EGVM)Grape Growers (non-commercial, small acreage) ~ 2012 ProgramIf you have grapevines, your help is needed to keep the European Grapevine Moth (EGVM) from getting established and spreading in Sonoma County. EGVM is a new pest recently found in Sonoma County. Others in the community are working together and taking measures to eradicate this destructive pest. The Agricultural Commissioner is asking non-commercial grape growers, within 500 meters of a European Grapevine Moth find, to drop the fruit from grapevines by the end of June. If you wish to keep your fruit, growers are asked to treat their vines with an approved material. Please contact our Grower Liaison, Shelly Mochizuki, at (707) 565-2371 for information on treatment materials and the timing of their application. To find out if your grapevines are within 500 meters of an EGVM find click here Maps – EGVM Quarantine. Additional EGVM information:
