Apiary Inspection
The purpose
of apiary registration and inspection has been to hinder the spread of
certain diseases and pests that are economic threats to bees. These include
American Foul Brood, Acarine Mite and Varroa Mite. Currently, the objective
is also to prevent the introduction of the Africanized Honey Bee into
domestic colonies.
Information
The Sonoma County Beekeepers Association
maintains a “Swarm
List” of
beekeepers who will remove unwanted hives from
your property. Some will also help with Yellow
