Shiloh Regional Park Hike Sunday,
January 19, 2003 |
Join Sonoma County Regional Parks staff member Bill Arenander for an
enjoyable 5-mile loop hike through the oak-studded hills of Shiloh Regional
Park in Windsor on Sunday January 19, 2003.
This 850-acre park features views of Mt. St. Helena and the Santa Rosa
valley. Hike will be at a leisurely pace, with some steep climbs along
the way. The trail follows and crosses a creek lined with ferns and moss,
and visits a frog pond. The meadows will be green and may be muddy.
Meet at Shiloh Regional Park parking lot 9:30 a.m. Take the Shiloh Road
exit east off Highway 101, and follow it to Faught Road. Turn right on
Faught, and Shiloh Regional Park is on the immediate left. Bring drinking
water, good hiking boots and layered clothing. There is a $3 day-use-parking
fee per car. Restrooms and a picnic area are available. Limited space
is available and rain cancels the hike. For reservations, call Bill Arenander
at 539-6396.
