Spring Lake Regional Park in Santa Rosa boasts many fun ways to stay cool this summer. In addition to swimming, boating and enjoying the trails, you can visit the Environmental Discovery Center of Sonoma County (EDC), located just inside the Violetti Road entrance to the park.
From July 2 through August 31 the EDC presents Explore -n- More!, a self-paced, drop-in program focusing on water conservation and summer safety topics including food, water, fire, boating, biking, hiking and camping. There will be fun, interactive, educational programs for children ages 5-12 including crafts, games, art and nature. Visitors can view steelhead up-close along with a whole tank full of creatures from Spring Lake, or take a nature walk and learn about the many uses for plants in the park.

The EDC is a partnership established by the Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation. Founding sponsors include: Sonoma County Water Agency, Sonoma County Department of Transportation and Public Works - Integrated Waste Management, Sonoma County Department of Health Services - Environmental Health, Sonoma County Department of Emergency Services, City of Santa Rosa - Public Works Department, California State Parks - Silverado District and the Sonoma County Regional Parks Department.

The EDC is open 10am-5pm Wednesday - Friday, and noon-5pm Weekends. Admission is free with paid park entry.
