COTATI MAN CHARGED WITH NINE FELONY COUNTS FOR ROADSIDE ASSAULTS OF WOMEN

Sonoma County District Attorney Stephan Passalacqua announced today that Thomas Darin Boccaleoni, age 44, a Cotati resident, has been charged with nine felony counts in connection with roadside assaults committed on three women. Boccaleoni appeared in court Thursday, April 30, 2009 before the Honorable Elliot Daum but did not enter a plea to any of the charges.

District Attorney Passalacqua stated, “We are very pleased to have this suspect behind bars. I would encourage everyone with additional information about these crimes to contact the Sheriff’s Department.”

The assaults were committed between November 2008 and April 2009. The defendant flashed his high beams to get the victims to pull over their vehicles. He would then approach their cars and assault the women.

Boccaleoni is charged with committing Sexual Penetration with a Foreign Object, Assault with Intent to Commit a Sex Offense, Sexual Battery, Criminal Threats and False Imprisonment. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday May 4, 2009 to enter a formal plea to the charges.
