CONVICTED CHILD MOLESTER DENIED PAROLE FOR ANOTHER TWO YEARS

District Attorney Stephan Passalacqua announced today that on August 1, 2007, fifteen years after Gennaro Gaglione was convicted of sexually molesting a five-year-old child, the Parole Board determined Gaglione is not fit to be in the community.

District Attorney Passalacqua said, "We’re pleased that the Parole Board agreed with our presentation and denied this sexual predator release into the community."

On April 29, 1992 five-year-old Angela was playing outside of her apartment with a three-year-old companion under the watch of a babysitter. Gaglione approached Angela and asked her to help him pick up some green plastic items that were inside a closet. He offered to pay her. Angela agreed and followed him into the closet. Once there, Gaglione removed his pants and had Angela touch his penis. The babysitter interrupted them when she came into the closet looking for Angela.

Gaglione was previously convicted of four separate sexual offenses against girls between the ages of fourteen and eighteen and had served prison sentences for those crimes.

On August 1, 2007, the Parole Board conducted a hearing to evaluate whether Gaglione is suitable for release. The District Attorney’s office was represented by Deputy District Attorney Marianna Green, who argued against Gaglione’s release. The Board agreed and denied his release for a two year period, the maximum period allowed.
