What does the Assessor do?

Customer Service / Exemptions

The Customer Service/Exemptions Division is responsible for providing quality public service to taxpayers at our front counter and over the phone. They maintain our counter mapbooks and also coordinate the sale of parcel maps, Use Code Booklets, aerial photos and other non-confidential property data, and they update and maintain situs and mailing address information in the Assessor's computerized property system. They also monitor, record and process claims for the following:

This division also provides support services to our Standards, Mapping and Appraisal divisions as needed, and they maintain the real property records file room which currently houses approximately 180,000 property records.
